Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a traditional Oriental Medical Therapy using very fine and thin stainless steel needles into the body at specific points, which have been empirically proven effective in the treatment of specific disorders. These points have been mapped out by the East over a period of 5,000 years.

Recently, these locations were confirmed by electromagnetic research. Acupuncture, thru needling, can stimulate the body and activate the regulating functions of the body to improve and rectify the disturbance and dysfunction of certain organs in the body. It not only can treat disease but also prevent disease. It is noted for extensive application, significant curative effects.

Suction is created using heat (fire) or mechanical devices (hand or electrical pumps).

Acupressure & Gua Sha (刮痧)

Acupressure from Latin Acus as "needle" + pressure,  is an alternative medicine technique similar in principle to acupuncture. It is based on the concept of life energy which flows through "meridians" in the body. In treatment, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians. Pressure may be applied by hand, by the elbow, or with various devices.

Gua-Sha meaning "scraping sha-bruises", is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped to produce light bruising. Practitioners believe gua sha releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow and healing.
